The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.
Summary of position
As the key resource in the IT Department, the Business Analyst will insure support and delivery of IT projects. The candidate will act as the subject matter expert and be the first point of contact for the end-users of the systems in his/hers given functional area of expertise.
Supports or leads the IT project initiatives (opportunity evaluation, builds the project and/or business case, facilitates the kick-off meeting).
Develops test plans, direct and supervise the test phase of each project by working with technical team members and key users;
Leads and, or Participates in, the preparation required for implementing the solution.
Leads and, or Participates in user training;
Support users during the deployment phase, by being the first point of contact;
Insures accurate completion of the deliverables by the set deadlines;
Leads the requirements gathering phase of the project;
Collaborates with decision makers, department managers, specialists and users to understand the clients business, identify, and validate their requirements;
Uses a variety of information gathering techniques and requirements;
Identifies opportunities for the internal client to improve their business processes by leveraging industry best practices and using standard techniques (e.g. Process mapping, workflow, etc.);
Initiate with users opportunities for improvement in their respective functions;
Leads the creation of the functional and technical specifications document for the project; Works with the technical team members to pull the pieces together for the document;
Testing & Quality Assurance
Creates integrated test scripts and works with other project members through the testing process;
Leads or assists other team members in testing components of a solution;
Communicate all bugs and quality issues to the technical team as soon as they are discovered;
Coordinates with the key users;
Leads and, or Participates in the implementation phase of the project;
Works with the technical team members to configure the hardware and software components of a solution;
Coordinates the data migration, final preparation, cut-over, and go live.
Prepares the user documentation and training documents;
Plans the training sessions with the users and gives or facilitates the training.
Client satisfaction and support
Manages the internal client’s expectations and ensures client’s satisfaction with the services delivered;
Proactively communicates the progress on current activities;
Supports the systems and applications in his area of expertise;
Leads and, or Participates in activities which will transfer knowledge and skills to new and existing staff members;
Keep up to date with the best practices in his/her area of expertise and recommend new solutions or process improvement considerations.
Job qualifications and basic requirements•5 years of experience with business process re-engineering, conducting user training, and providing on-going systems support in a multi-plant environment;
•Strong working knowledge of the supply chain, manufacturing, and/or order to cash processes;
•Functional knowledge of the ERP manufacturing and distribution modules, including MPS/MRP, CRP and Shop floor;
•Experience with Baan and / or Infor-LN preferred, SAP would be an asset;
•Ability to communicate well, in both English and French, at all levels in the organization,
•Spanish would be an asset;
•Excellent interpersonal skills;
•Imperative Teamwork Abilities;
•Power of influence necessary for the performance of his duties;
•Ability to manage multiple tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines, work under pressure and manage expectations of internal customers;
•Project management experience; PMP certification is an asset.
